Feyenoord return
Dutch icon van Persie is of course best remembered for his on-pitch exploits in the Premier League.
The hitman proved one of English football’s most lethal finishers for some time, across stints with Arsenal, and then Manchester United.
All told, RVP found the net 144 times in the Premier League, good enough for 13th on the division’s all-time top-scorer list.

As outlined above, though, on Monday, van Persie’s plans to take his goalscoring expertise to the sidelines have been unveiled.
As per a report from Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad, the 37-year-old will imminently be named the assistant coach of the U16s at Feyenoord, the club with whom he opened and ended his professional career:

All PL final?
Whilst van Persie prepares for life in management, two of the attacker’s former clubs are of course eyeing up a showdown on the European stage.
Manchester United, for one, have all but booked their spot in the Europa League final, courtesy of a 6-2 drubbing of AS Roma in their semi-final first-leg meeting with the Giallorossi last week.
Arsenal, though, have it all to do to set up an all-Premier League showpiece, with the Gunners trailing Unai Emery’s Villarreal by two goals to one ahead of welcoming the La Liga outfit to the Emirates later this week.
