Everton and West Ham keen on signing 23-yr-old, player will cost around €35m – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Juventus are prepared to sell the Turkish defender Merih Demiral this summer and they will look to recoup around €35 million for the 23-year-old.
According to Juve Live, the Italian outfit are looking to raise money for their own transfers and Demiral has been placed on the transfer list.
The report further states that Everton and West Ham United have shown strong interest in the player.
Both clubs could use a quality centre back this summer and their interest in Demiral certainly makes sense. The young defender could be the ideal partner for Ben Godfrey in the Everton back four and he could partner Issa Diop at West Ham as well.
A move away from Juventus would be ideal for the 23-year-old. He needs to play regularly in order to fulfil his potential and he is unlikely to get those opportunities at the Turin club next season.
The highly-rated Turkish defender has had a disappointing European Championships so far and he could use a fresh start next season.
Both Premier League clubs are capable of paying the reported €35 million asking price for the player and it remains to be seen where the Turkish international ends up eventually.
If Demiral manages to adapt to English football, he could sort out Everton or West Ham’s defence for years to come. There is no doubt that he is highly talented but he might need some time to regain his form and sharpness.
