Chelsea have been dealt a blow on the personnel front this evening, after Andreas Christensen was forced to limp out of the club’s meeting with Manchester City.

Christensen hobbled
The marquee fixture of the Premier League weekend is of course currently playing out at the Etihad.
The clash sees champions-in-waiting Man City playing host to Chelsea, aware that a 3-point haul will see them officially replace Liverpool as title holders.
Thomas Tuchel’s visitors, though, have plenty at stake themselves, with the Blues in the thick of the top-4 battle.
But, as things stand, it is City who boast a slender advantage in Manchester.
The game’s solitary goal thus far came on the stroke of the interval, when Gabriel Jesus got the better of Andreas Christensen, before squaring across the face for Raheem Sterling to take advantage of Sergio Aguero’s heavy first touch:

Adding insult to injury (or rather injury to insult), meanwhile, was the fact that, in the process of losing out to Jesus, Andres Christensen also picked up an injury problem.
In turn, the stopper was forced to limp off, amid a crucial stretch in Chelsea’s campaign.

Aguero embarrassed
Moments before the half-time whistle blew at the Etihad, however, Chelsea’s woes should in fact have been deepened even further.
This came after hosts City were awarded a spot-kick, after Billy Gilmour was adjudged to have felled the heavily involved Gabriel Jesus in the Blues box.
Sergio Aguero stepped up to take responsibility of the ensuing penalty, but, in altogether embarrassing fashion, saw his dinked Panenka effort straight down the middle comfortably dealt with by Edouard Mendy:
Oh no, Sergio ?
Aguero’s Panenka penalty does not go to plan…

His failure from 12 yards actually proved doubly costly for City’s soon-to-be former hitman, in also seeing Aguero fail to draw level with Wayne Rooney as the Premier League’s highest-ever one club goalscorer:
