Ramos a free agent
Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos left the Spanish capital upon his contract expiring this summer.
The Spaniard proved a stalwart of Real’s defence in that time, having made 671 appearances for Los Blancos, winning four Champions League titles in the process.

According to Ramos, he never wanted to leave the Bernabeu, with the stopper having confirmed that a disagreement over contract length came as the sticking point in negotiations.
He said:
“My first choice was to stay. I received a 1-year offer with a salary cut. The money wasn’t an issue, I wanted a 2-year contract for myself and my family.
“I accepted the 1-year offer at last, but the club informed me that the offer was no longer on the table.”

Paris bound?
According to the latest reports, Ramos is on the verge of swapping the Spanish capital for the French one, joining up with fellow Spaniards Juan Bernat, Pablo Sarabia and Ander Herrera at PSG.

Mohamed Bouhafsi, of French outlet RMC Sport, reported the following:
Agreement between PSG and Sergio Ramos. The Real legend will join PSG for 2 years. The brother of the player is in Paris and has reached an agreement with the Parisian management. Medical in the next few days.
This will add further to a very savvy summer for the Parisians, who have already snapped up shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma and midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum on free transfers, as they respond to losing out on the Ligue 1 title to Lille.
PSG are also set to sign the impressive wing-back Achraf Hakimi in a deal worth 70 million euros in the coming days.
Inter and Paris Saint-Germain are completing paperworks and contract now set to be signed for Achraf Hakimi deal. It’s done as Donnarumma too – never been in doubt. ?? #PSG
There’s still nothing advanced for Hector Bellerin. Arsenal are not considering loan bids as of today.

Now 35, Ramos was controversially dropped from Luis Enrique’s Spanish squad for Euro 2020, and will be desperate for a chance to prove that the coach was wrong to discard him at this point in his career.
Could PSG give him that chance?
