Arsenal to sign Ben White?
The headline news surrounding Arsenal in recent days has involved Ben White.
After excelling with Leeds United in their promotion-winning campaign, White then returned to parent club Brighton for the 2020/21 season.
White went on to instantly become a key cog in Graham Potter’s backline, displaying all the skills required of a ball-playing centre-back in the modern game.
White’s form even saw him named in England’s provisional squad for Euro 2020, before then being called up to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final 26-man team.
Now, Arsenal look to be seriously interested in landing White this summer.
David Ornstein claimed on Thursday that the Gunners were moving closer to an agreement with Brighton for White.
The Seagulls are said to want a guaranteed £50m, with Arsenal offering £45m and then £5m in add-ons.

Arteta’s stance on Rob Holding
If White is to sign, Arsenal would seemingly have a surplus of central defenders.
Gabriel Magalhaes does look to be the north Londoners’ main left-sided centre-back, with Pablo Mari his back-up.
Then, on the right side of their centre-back spots, Mikel Arteta could, if White signs, call upon the Brighton star, Rob Holding and the returning William Saliba.
Three defenders for one position does seem quite excessive, especially given Arsenal have no European football in 2021/22.
So, it would make sense if someone was sold. Given White is just signing he would not leave. That would just leave Saliba or Holding. And with Saliba yet to play a game for Arsenal despite costing £27m, selling the Frenchman would be some pretty odd business.
That just leaves Rob Holding. However, football.london’s Chris Wheatley has now provided some insight into Mikel Arteta’s stance on Holding.
And it is claimed that Arteta considers the stopper a part of Arsenal’s leadership group and highly unlikely to be going anywhere next season.
