Speculation stemming from Italy has credited Manchester City with an interest in Fabian Ruiz.

Fabian Ruiz would join Napoli in 2018 after making a £27m switch from Spanish outfit Real Betis.
Ruiz has since become a mainstay in Napoli’s midfield, notching 124 appearances across all competitions so far.
In said ties the central midfielder has scored 14 and assisted 10, though his game is more about controlling the tempo of play and starting attacks from the base of midfield than it is about actual goal contributions.
Ruiz to Man City?
Ruiz currently has just over two years left on his current Napoli contract.
However, reports stemming from Italy are suggesting that, despite the Spaniard still being key to Gli Azzurri, he could be sold in the summer.
Italian journalist Emanuele Cammaroto, as cited by Sport Witness, wrote recently that:
“Ruiz could be, with a lot of probability, the one to be ‘sacrificed’ in the upcoming summer, and it’s heading towards an auction between Real Madrid and Manchester City, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain ready to enter the scene. Ruiz isn’t renewing and Napoli won’t entertain offers below €60m.”

With Fernandinho now 36 and out of contract this summer, it is quite clear Man City need to target some fresh legs in midfield.
But is Ruiz the man to fill that void? Going forward with the ball, Ruiz is of course superb. But he does look quite weak defensively, unlike the aforementioned Fernandinho and Rodri.
But if another midfielder linked with City, Manuel Locatelli, ends up at Juventus, then maybe City may be forced to consider someone like Ruiz.
