An update on Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho has emerged over the weekend.

Jadon Sancho’s Dortmund stint
Since making the switch to Dortmund in 2017, Jadon Sancho has showcased his ability as one of the brightest young talents in world football.
2019/20 saw the former Manchester City man rack up a staggering 20 goals and 20 assists in 44 outings across all competitions.
And though Dortmund struggled a fair bit throughout large periods of the 2020/21 season, Sancho nevertheless managed to net 16 and provide 20 assists in just 38 appearances.
With several of these contributions coming as Dortmund hammered RB Leipzig 4-1 in the DFB Pokal final, with Sancho scoring two and assisting one.
Man United & Sancho
Now, with the summer transfer window open, the subject of Sancho’s future in Germany has once again come to the fore.
For some time, it has of course been Manchester United who have been viewed as the leading contenders for Sancho, with reports last month having suggested that the Red Devils are still keen on the winger.
This was followed by speculation that Chelsea had launched a bid for the winger.
However, just over a week ago it was revealed that United had opened talks with Sancho’s camp over personal terms:

No official bid yet.

The issue seemingly holding up the Sancho deal for United, though, looks to be the transfer fee.
According to a report from the Mirror over the weekend, Man United are still a ‘significant’ way apart from Dortmund in terms of their valuation of Sancho.
BVB are said to want £80m, whilst the Red Devils are believed to want to pay £60m. It is, however, added that there is room for compromise when it comes to that figure.
