A gentleman’s agreement
In what became the transfer Saga of the summer 2020 window, Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho is set to continue into 2021.
Manchester United were unable to convince Borussia Dortmund to sell last year but thanks to a gentleman’s agreement with club executive Michael Zorc the England international could leave should the fee be met.
“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,” Zorc said.
“He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling [Haaland].”

Zorc also explained why Sancho remained in Germany last summer.
“In the end, the requirements were not met,” he said relating to the fee.
What are the requirements?
The price tag for this summer is supposedly a reduced figure to what was expected in 2020.
The German side, who secured Champions League football for next season thanks to a flurry of victories towards the end of the campaign much in part due to Sancho and Haaland, have set a €90-100 million figure on the former Manchester City youth product.
According to German outlet BILD, Dortmund will not settle for any less than the aforementioned fee.
Sancho has scored 8 goals and aided with 13 assists in the league but took his total to 16 goals and 21 assists including the German Cup and Champions League appearances.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to the Telegraph, is so keen on Sancho he is willing to go against the wishes of his players who are said to prefer Jack Grealish.

It is no wonder United want Sancho to add to their attacking verve with possibly even Harry Kane on their list of summer targets too.

BILD also claim that Dortmund’s have set their sights on Lille’s Jonathon Ikone as a potential replacement for the outgoing Sancho. The 23-year-old has scored 7 goals and recorded 7 assists this season for the new French champions.
