Everton have been linked with a move for the Dutch international Denzel Dumfries in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old PSV Eindhoven defender has been outstanding for his country in the European Championships so far.
The defender has scored vital goals for his country against Ukraine and Austria in the group stages so far.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Everton are trying to sign the player and they have already contacted his agent Mino Raiola regarding a summer transfer.
Apparently, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have also contacted the player’s agent.
Dumfries was outstanding for PSV in the Eredivisie last season and he has proven his quality at the international level this summer.
It is hardly a surprise that the top clubs are looking to sign him this summer and Everton will have to move quickly to fend off the competition and secure his services.
SL View: Ideal replacement for Coleman
The Toffees need to find a quality long term replacement for Seamus Coleman and the 25-year-old Dutchman would be the perfect alternative.
He is reliable at the back and efficient going forward. Dumfries has his peak years ahead of him and he is likely to improve further with experience.
The Dutchman could develop into a top-class player for the Premier League side in future.
A move to the Premier League would be ideal for Dumfries’ development as well. Playing alongside better players at a higher level could aid his improvement.
