Reports stemming from Spain suggest that Chelsea are in a good position when it comes to the potential signing of Jules Kounde.

Kounde a mand in demand
Jules Kounde has been honing his craft with Sevilla for nearly two years now.
The 22-year-old joined the Spanish outfit in the summer of 2019 from Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux.
Sevilla are understood to have paid around £22.5m to bring the stopper to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium.
He went on to feature 40 times last season, playing a key role in the club’s Europa League triumph.
Kounde has since racked up a further 45 appearances across all competitions to this point in the current campaign.
And, amid a host of consistently impressive displays, the stopper has inevitably been linked with some top sides of late.
Manchester City were tipped to move for the youngster during the delayed summer window.
More recent months, meanwhile, saw another of the Premier League’s giants credited with an interest in Kounde.
It was claimed at the back end of January that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had made the Frenchman his first-choice summer target at Manchester United.
Chelsea interested in Kounde
And recent weeks have seen yet another Premier League powerhouse – Chelsea – credited with an interest in the youngster.
Now, as mentioned above, a fresh update on the Blues’ links to the Frenchman have emerged.
According to Sport Witness, citing Spanish outlet La Razon, both Chelsea and Real Madrid would like to sign Kounde in the summer window, with the latter considering an offer if Sergio Ramos or Raphael Varane depart.
But it is added that Chelsea have no such conditions when it comes to a swoop for the Sevilla star, with the Londoners the best-positioned team to secure a deal.
In terms of a potential fee for Kounde, an offer of around €70m may be enough to convince Sevilla to sell.

Given the fact that he is a right-footed defender, Kounde could potentially act as a long-term replacement for Cezar Azpilicueta, who has often operated on the right of a back-three.
Fikayo Tomori could of course also make his move to AC Milan permanent, whilst Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen only have just over a year remaining on their respective contracts at Stamford Bridge.
