All English final
With Chelsea progressing past Real Madrid and Manchester City knocking out PSG, there will be an all-English Champions League final.
Thomas Tuchel was able to mastermind 3-1 aggregate victory over Zinedine Zidane and Los Blancos.
Goals from Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Mason Mount were enough over 180+ minutes to wrap up the tie comfortably.
Equally as impressive, Manchester City came from behind in the tie to win 4-1 on aggregate thanks to 3 goals from Riyad Mahrez and one from their talisman Kevin De Bruyne.

This will be the first time since the 2012 victory that Chelsea have played in the European elite competition’s final.
Whereas for Manchester City, they will be partaking for the very first time having only ever reached the semi-final once before this season.
City become the third new side in the final in successive seasons after PSG last year and Spurs the year prior.
Chelsea recently knocked Man City out of the FA Cup semi final and face the Citizens in the league this coming week. The narrative is set, but what about the venue?

UCL final venue unlikely to move
The 2021 Champions League final is set to take place in Istanbul Turkey, 16 years after the famous Liverpool comeback against AC Milan.

Turkey was set to host the final last season but due to the pandemic waved responsibility for a year so the competition could take place in the Portuguese city of Lisbon.
Any thought of moving the final again seems unlikely at this stage. Simon Evans, reporter for Reuters, pointed out that Turkey waving the hosting of last season to this will unlikely see them be so open to it twice in a row.
As of now, no-one has requested the Champions League final be moved. Not the clubs not the hosts. Istanbul waived their hosting rights last year in return for hosting this year. It will likely be up to them and no sign at moment that they want to withdraw.

The Times’ Martyn Ziegler also highlights that the Turkish Covid rate is falling and the country is expected leave lockdown on 17th May.
There is also expectation that 25,000 fans could be in attendance 8000 supporters of Chelsea & Man City also invited.
Will be predictable calls to move CL final from Istanbul but it doesn’t look at all likely – Turkey is all set for it, Covid rate falling, lockdown ending on May 17, and 25k fans planned (incl 4,000+ allocated to each club).

Wherever it is played, a final between Chelsea and Manchester City, Guardiola & Tuchel, De Bruyne & Havertz is sure to light up the pitch.
