Arsenal make ‘official bid’ for Locatelli
It is not uncommon for the international tournaments to throw up some excellent talents and performances which suddenly grip the viewers and see them hope for a possible link to their club side.
Manuel Locatelli’s brace against Switzerland suddenly announced himself to the world and a much wider array of supporters.
His stock had already been high based upon his performances in Italy for his own club side Sassuolo. A move to Juventus had been touted for some time but interestingly, the club CEO Carnevali has said that Arsenal have made an ‘official bid’ for the 23-year-old.
“Arsenal have made an official bid for Locatelli. They’re pushing hard to sign Manuel and it’s an important bid… we will see. Also Juventus want Locatelli and we’ve a special relationship with them. We’ve a new meeting scheduled with Juve”.
Sassuolo CEO Carnevali to Sky Sport: “Arsenal have made an official bid for Locatelli. They’re pushing hard to sign Manuel and it’s an important bid… we will see.

The special relationship goes back some way and players such as Domenico Berardi having been joint owned.
Be careful Arsenal fans
It is very easy for supporters to get wrapped up in desperation over a potential signing.
For Arsenal fans in particular they have had to deal with a plethora of varying links to players across every single summer transfer window.
In 2020 the race for both Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar saw many disappointed when the Frenchman never arrived. The acquisition of Partey was however seen as a huge coup.
Previous names such as Karim Benzema, Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuaín and Yann M’Vila may spark further nostalgic thoughts of summers gone by.
With Locatelli, fans should be wary. Juventus have reportedly already had a bid turned down for Locatelli, a figure Sassuolo were not willing to agree on.

By the words of Carnevali involving publicly the name of Arsenal, the idea is likely to panic Juventus. Make them believe that the player is close to joining another club and force them into moving for the player at the desired price.
Sure, the bid may be real but the intention of the clubs is very uncertain at present. Locatelli is said to favour a move to Turin and therefore may wait for Juve to push for the desired price.
Arsenal again left wanting and searching for another option.
