Xhaka exit grows closer
It appears that the Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka’s is time at Arsenal is coming to a close. Having spent a number of years both as a captain of Arsenal and as a former captain, after a controversial incident against Crystal Palace in 2019, it appears the time for change is near.
Xhaka has been a character in the Arsenal team which is divided opinion on monks much of the Arsenal fan base with many appreciating him for his consistency and passing ability and others unable to look beyond the flaws, mistakes and rash decision making.
It appears as though the club has also sided with the latter and sees Arsenal moving a heads without the 28 year-old.
It is said that Roma are in negotiations with Arsenal about a deal which could see Xhaka leave for a figure between £15m and £20m.
Arsenal have set a price of £20m for Granit Xhaka, who is willing to leave the club.
– Roma confident of a deal, as first reported by @DiMarzio.
– #AFC need to sell before they can buy this summer. £60m+ in sales targeted.

What Mourinho has said about Xhaka
The coach taking over from Paulo Fonseca at the end of the season will be Jose Mourinho.
The former Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United boss is looking to take the Italian capital side to greater heights than the UEFA Conference League position they finished in last campaign.
It is clear that the Portuguese man sees Granit Xhaka as the perfect midfielder for his side that has previously gone on record praising the Arsenal man.
“Granit Xhaka is the main man in the entire Arsenal midfield, you can’t see it unless I lend you one of my eyes. Without him, Arsenal is lost. He is a leader. Remember, mistakes are made by humans,” said Mourinho.

It now seems that he is set to prosper from the divide in the opinion on Xhaka at the club. No doubt seeing it as weakening Arsenal in the process, quite significantly should his words be the truth.
The departure of Xhaka is likely to prompt Arsenal into moving for more than just one midfielder this summer window.
The club have been linked with moves for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Real Betis’ Guido Rodriguez. Who they plan to move for first is yet to be seen.
