'What a gamble' – Some Wolves fans react to the appointment of Bruno Lage – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the appointment of Bruno Lage as their new manager.
The 45-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the club as a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo.
According to The Athletic, Lage was recommended to the Premier League club by agent Jorge Mendes who has close ties with the Molineux outfit.
Wolves were linked with the likes of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard as well but they have chosen to appoint the Portuguese manager instead.
Lage has helped Benfica win the league title during the 2018/19 season and it will be interesting to see if he can succeed at the Premier League club now.
The 45-year-old manager has revealed that it is his ambition to build on what Nuno has done at Molineux so far.
Lage is a young and ambitious manager with progressive ideas and he will be looking to bring high intensity attacking football with him to Molineux next season.
The Portuguese will also be expected to nurture the young talents at the club as well and the fans will certainly be looking forward to the next season under his management.
Here is how some of the Wolves fans have reacted to Bruno Lage’s appointment earlier today.
Welcome Bruno. Good luck! Hopefully a decent refresh of the squad, sort the defence out, bring back Mir and play more attractive football and a sense of optimism will return

Crikey, what a gamble (and certainly one we wouldn’t have made were it not for our sporting director, Jorge) – however, welcome to club, Bruno!!
