Everton have been desperately searching for a new coach since the surprising departure of Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian returned to Real Madrid and left the Toffees high and dry at the start of another important transfer window.
Fans target Benitez’s house
The news has however taken a dark turn with the anger of some Everton fans at the prospect of a former Liverpool coach taking over not going down well. In fact, some have taken it so badly they have gone ahead with some very drastic measures.
A banner was placed close to his family home with the writing, ‘WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE. DONT SIGN.’
This banner is online. It has been posted not far from where Rafa Benitez lives with his wife and his daughters. It’s sinister, it’s reprehensible and the people responsible for it should be ashamed. They are a disgrace. pic.twitter.com/6prhZt16vX

This is not the first time banners have been put up against the appointment. Outside Goodison some were also hung.

There has been rightly significant backlash from Everton supporters and others condemning the actions of a very small percentage of the supporter base.
And, in a reflection of their intelligence, has actually galvanised more support from Everton fans behind Rafa Benitez and his appointment than he has ever had.

Disgusting, too far. The person(s) who have put this up Dont represent me as a fan! That goes for the banners outside goodison too. I don’t want Benitez at all but this is too much!

100% not what our football club is about utterly embarrassing. Forget about football in this instance I feel for his family and Benitez himself.
