Tottenham’s Public hunt
After nearly three months without a permanent manager, Tottenham Hotspur have finally announced their new boss.
Head-coach since Jose Mourinho was fired at the beginning of April, leaving the inexperienced Ryan Mason in charge of the side until the end of the season.
The situation has been further complicated by the Lilywhites’ qualification for the UEFA Conference League, Europe’s third-tier competition, and star striker Harry Kane’s desire to leave the club.
Tottenham have since led a very public hunt for a new boss, with no fewer than eight names having rejected the job or any approach from the North London side.

However, Ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo rose to the fore as a candidate a week ago, and was officially unveiled as their new boss this evening.

“Attacking, Entertaining football”
Chairman Daniel Levy issued a statement along with the appointment saying that:
“Thank supporters for all their patience. I’ve spoken about need to revert back to core DNA of playing attacking, entertaining football. Believe Nuno is man who can take our talented group, embrace our young players coming through and build something special.”

Fans will question the suitability of Nuno and “attacking football” having watched his Wolves side play a largely counter-attacking style of play to experience success. A more attacking game-plan resulted in an ultimately disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

However, it is an appointment that will surely be greeted with relief after such a prolonged effort to land a manager.
