Tottenham need a new centre-back.
Tottenham have, for some time, required reinforcements at centre-back.
Spurs’ previously dominant pairing of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld has now broken up, with the former departing the club and the latter now looking someway past his best over recent months.
Elsewhere, both Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez can be quite error-prone.
This just leaves Joe Rodon, whose lack of top-flight experience has been laid bare on a number of occasions this term.
So, if Spurs wish to begin finishing in the top-four on a regular basis again, they probably do need to bring in some reinforcements at the back.
Tottenham linked with Bayern’s Jerome Boateng
The Lilywhites have already been linked with several defenders of late.
Inter Milan defender, Milan Skriniar, has been linked with Tottenham for some time now.
Another centre-back believed to be of interest to Spurs is Lyon stopper, Joachim Andersen, with a report on Tuesday once again crediting the north Londoners with an interest in the Fulham loanee.
However, as mentioned above, reports from Germany are suggesting that Spurs are also keeping tabs on another defender.
That man is Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng, who is out of contract with the German powerhouse in the summer.
According to Sport Witness, citing German outlet Bild, Spurs have Boateng on ‘top of the wish list’ for the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is added that Boateng wants a three-year deal, whilst Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are also believed to be interested in him:
