Tottenham’s Managerial Circus Act
Spurs have been without a permanent head-coach since Jose Mourinho was fired at the beginning of April, leaving the inexperienced Ryan Mason in charge of the side.
The situation has been further complicated by the Lilywhites’ qualification for the UEFA Conference League, Europe’s third-tier competition, and star striker Harry Kane’s desire to leave the club.
Manchester City made an official proposal to Tottenham for Harry Kane. £100M guaranteed + availability to include players in the deal.#THFC have NO intention to accept. Harry wants to go, but Levy will try to keep him. ❌
Harry now focused on the Euros, then it’ll be decided.

It was thought that Nuno Espirito Santo, last in charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers, had been passed over for the job in North London.
However, perhaps due to a lack of alternatives, the Daily Mail report that the Portuguese boss is rapidly becoming the new favourite to take over at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium

Spurs fans unite again
Widespread condemnation met the potential appointment of Gennaro Gattuso, whose previous sexist and racist comments came to the fore, not to mention the Italian’s notoriously short fuse, a reputation earned during his playing days.
As a result, the hashtag #NotoGattuso trended at number one across the UK.
Huge decision for Daniel Levy over Rino Gattuso, now the subject of a major backlash from Spurs fans over previous remarks of his. Not to mention a less-than-impressive coaching track record. Suspect there could well be another twist in the #prolonged hunt for a new #THFC manager

A week later, and though no such controversy surrounds Nuno Espirito Santo, #NotoNuno is also trending across England.
Nothing against Nuno as a person, I’m sure he’s lovely.
But I do not want him to manage our football club.

Much of the fan backlash has been aimed at the style of football that Nuno oversaw whilst at Wolves, with his side having been notorious for defending first before counter attacking, a system that served them well.
On the other hand, Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy has promised “free-flowing, attacking and entertaining” football.
Nuno? Levy, you said you’d play ‘Attacking Football’
xG – 38.62 (16th)
PPDA – 14.13 (15th)
DC – 139 (19th)
Big chances created – 28 (20th lol)
Goals per match – 0.9 (16th)
possesion won final 3rd – 122 (18th)Is this REAL ATTACKING FOOTBALL?#COYS #THFC #Notonuno #Levyout

IF Tottenham appoint Nuno it just confirms they’ve ran out of ideas and are being lazy. He ticks very few boxes and is nowhere near Levy’s ‘dna’ quotes. You’re literally just taking a Mendes client because it’s easy.

Absolutely #NoToNuno @SpursOfficial another ridiculous option, is he being considered just because he’s free? There is a clue there. I’d also like to know how this man fits with attacking free flowing football and matches our DNA?

Based on the social media backlash, it is safe to say that if Levy and new Director of Football Fabio Paratici decide to appoint Nuno, they will hear all about it when fans return to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
