Man City also want Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, but landing both the English striker and Grealish this summer could prove complicated.
Villa reportedly would only consider over £100 million before thinking of parting with their most important player, and with the Spurs star expected to cost more, spending over £200m on two players in one window does not look feasible.
A new striker is of utmost priority to Man City manager Pep Guardiola this summer after the departure of Sergio Aguero at the end of last season, and that could be good news for Villa.
Should the Premier League champions decide to break the bank on Kane, a move for Grealish this summer could be shelved.
