Covid chaos
Widespread chatter has of course surrounded ongoings in the Three Lions’ camp over the course of the last week.
This comes after key aforementioned pair Mount and Chilwell were forced to depart Gareth Southgate’s core group of stars, to enter a mandatory period of self isolation.
The situation was brought about following an exchange between the Chelsea duo and club teammate Billy Gilmour in the aftermath of England’s group stage stalemate with Scotland.
Scottish standout Gilmour, in the aftermath of the clash, went on to test positive for Covid-19, with Mount and Chilwell, in turn, having been deemed as close contacts:

England’s Chelsea stars were subsequently forced to sit out the nation’s final group stage outing versus the Czech Republic, with their potential participation versus Germany on Tuesday having since remained altogether up in the air.
Blues eyeing German return
As outlined above, though, with less than 24 hours to go before the Wembley showdown, a fresh insight into the situation has been provided.
The news comes courtesy of Goal.com reporter Nizaar Kinsella, who assures that Mount and Chilwell are ‘hoping to end their period of isolation early’, to feature versus Germany.
Bizarrely, both players have now returned five negative Covid tests apiece, but have nevertheless hitherto been unable to join back up with the Three Lions’ squad.
Should the situation change before tomorrow morning, though, it remains altogether unlikely that either player will be selected from the off on Tuesday.
Mount and Chilwell are travelling seperately with the squad and out of isolation at midnight having completed the full 10 days since contacting Gilmour. They had hoped to get out of it early. It would be a big call to select either vs Germany: https://t.co/wCyFlMxnAJ #Euro2020
