France eliminated by Switzerland
With just minutes remaining it looked like France had booked their place in the last 8 of the tournament.
However, Switzerland had other ideas and goals from Haris Seferovic and Mario Gavranović sent the match into extra time.
Neither side could find the back of the net despite consistent pressure, however, France failed to impose their greater possession.
Much of this was down to Granit Xhaka, who won ‘Star of the match,’ after a commanding display sending many Arsenal fans onto their social medias to clamour for more money from Roma ahead of a proposed mood.
Xhaka went toe-to-toe with Pogba and Kante in the middle of the park.

Penalties arrived and Kylian Mbappe’s miss after everyone prior had scored sent his France side home.
The fingers have already begun pointing, many squarely at coach Didier Deschamps.
Didier Deschamps dismisses exit talks
After the match, immediately questions were asked of France head coach Didier Deschamps.
The World Cup winning man was not entertaining anything on the matter whatsoever.
“That is not the question,” said Deschamps.
“There is a unity and solidarity in this squad. I am responsible, when things go badly, I am with them, they are with me. We will need to time to manage this.
“We did what we needed to in order to go 3-1 up and then we showed weakness, something unusual for us. Losing on penalties is always cruel for a team.”
Deschamps brought on Moussa Sissoko for Antoine Griezmann and almost immediately after France conceded.
The decisions with the changes will certainly come in for scrutiny but others have begun to now question his decisions before a ball had even been kicked.

A strange one considering that Benzema scored 4 goals in 4 games including two in the crunch match with Switzerland.
An investigation into the early exit will likely begin almost immediately.
