Ronaldo to leave Juve for Sporting
The future of Cristiano Ronaldo has taken an increased focus of late with the possibility Juventus would not qualify for the Champions League.
The club have already conceded the title to Inter Milan and are 2 points above 5th placed Napoli and joint on 69 points with Atalanta and Milan.
Italian journalist Claudio Raimondi reported that Ronaldo intends to finish his career with former club Sporting Lisbon.
He also explained why Real Madrid and Manchester United are not feasible options.
“A return to Spain, to Real Madrid, is not a concrete hypothesis, whereas Manchester United does not have the economic power to carry out such an operation. There are no conditions for Ronaldo to leave Juventus, especially from a personal and of connecting to all sponsors ,” said Raimondi.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has an idea for the future and we reveal it here first hand. He wants to end the cycle at Juventus and then play two years for Sporting.”
Pirlo congratulates Inter
Inter Milan ended a 9-time consecutive run of Scudetto titles for Juventus this weekend.
Andrea Pirlo’s first full season in charge coincided with the end of the streak and his answer to questions about Inter’s victory showed his determination to claw back the title next season.
“We give our regards to Inter and to the coach, they deserve this success,” Pirlo said. “We need to change, one cycle has closed but another one will open to complete for the Scudetto.”
Pirlo talks of the 2-1 win for Juve against Udinese. With 10 minutes left, Juve were losing and at threat of finishing the weekend outside the top 4. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up with two goals in the last 10 minutes to drag the Bianconeri back to their main target.
“We laboured for this win and we’re proud, it was important after this afternoon’s results. Things were tricky when we allowed the goal, but we desperately wanted to bring home the result at the end,” he said.
“There was a mental fatigue. Something changes when you are used to always playing for the Scudetto. For the last several weeks the objective has changed: it’s a struggle but we must achieve the Champions League.”
Juve face a tricky run in having to play both Milan clubs whilst their rivals have more straightforward finishes to the league.
