Leicester City vs Chelsea
Despite the Premier League season still not being over, we are set to see the 2021 FA Cup final play out this weekend.
Arsenal are the current holders, but have already crashed out of the competition at the hands of Southampton.
This season’s final will instead be contested between Leicester City and Chelsea.
The former have made it to their first FA Cup final in their history, whilst Chelsea are looking to pick up the trophy for a 9th time.
Heading into the clash, it is most defiantly Chelsea who are in better form. The Blues have been a dominant force since Thomas Tuchel took the reins, with the German already taking the scalp of countless top managers during his short stint in London.
Rodgers on Jamie Vardy & Jonny Evans
Leicester, on the other hand, though they did beat a second-string Manchester United side on Tuesday, have looked some way off their best of late.
That, in part, was been down to the absence of key centre-back, Jonny Evans.
The defender has missed Leicester’s last two league games. But when speaking about Evans on Tuesday evening, Rodgers stated that he was determined to be playing at the weekend:
“We’ll assess it over the next few days. It was just too big a risk for him this evening. But he’s very determined to be out there for us at the weekend.”
Rodgers was also quizzed on Jamie Vardy after the striker appeared to pick up an issue vs Man United, but the Leicester boss assured that the striker will be fine:
“He’s absolutely fine. He ran himself into the ground and I wanted to close the game out. He took a blow in the first half but no, he’ll be fine.”
Were you worried when you saw Vardy going off early? Here’s what Rodgers had to say about it…
