Report: Arsenal expected to submit bid for 23-year-old versatile 'primary target' – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign a centre-back this summer.
According to reports from The Athletic, the Gunners are expected to submit a bid for Ben White.
As of now, the Gunners are only showing serious interest in the 23-year-old centre-back, but it has not resulted in a formal offer, as yet.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester have all watched the 23-year-old defender closely, while Liverpool scouted him extensively when he was on loan at Leeds United.
White is currently with the England senior squad for the Euro 2020. Fortunately, he had to cancel his summer plans, after he was drafted in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold who was injured before the tournament.
The report claims that the Gunners are looking to sign a new right-sided centre-half, and White has emerged as the club’s ‘primary target’.

White impressed heavily at Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa and helped the club secure promotion to the Premier League.
He has been very consistent with the performance this past season and deserves to play for a top Premier League club.
White is a versatile centre-back, who is comfortable in a back four and a back three, and has even featured in the holding midfield role.
Brighton are expected to demand between £40 million and £50 million for the 23-year-old.
The valuation is way too much, although it seems Arsenal are ready to pay that.
Having missed out on Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa, the Gunners should look to wrap up his signing at the earliest, especially with other Premier League rivals vying for his signature.
