Rangers looking to sign 27-yr-old midfield ace on a bargain this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Rangers are thought to be interested in signing the Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram on a free transfer this summer.
According to the Sheffield Star, the midfielder’s contract at Bramall lane expires this month and the likes of Burnley are keen on the midfielder as well.
The former Everton midfielder has done well in the Premier League with Sheffield and he could prove to be a quality addition to Steven Gerrard’s midfield.
It is highly likely that he will have offers to stay in the Premier League beyond this season and it remains to be seen whether he’s willing to make the move to Scotland.
Rangers will be able to offer him European football but the chance to play regular Premier League football could prove to be tempting for the versatile midfielder.
The Scottish outfit will have to add more quality and depth to their side in order to retain their domestic crown next year and signing a quality player like Lundstram on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke.
The 27-year-old midfielder’s current contract expires on the 30th of June and he is yet to decide his long-term future.
The Blades have been relegated to the Championship and it is highly unlikely that the player will sign an extension with them. A move away from Bramall Lane seems all but certain for the player.
