Ancelotti’s shock departure
Everton have been without a manager since the 1st of June, when Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti left the club to rejoin Real Madrid.

The move came as a shock to many, with Antonio Conte thought to be the frontrunner for the hotseat in the Spanish capital. However, Madrid moved for a return for Ancelotti, leaving Everton without a man at the helm.
Who will replace Ancelotti?
There has been significant speculation surrounding just who might replace the Italian man in charge of the club, with Nuno Espirito Santo, most recently of Wolverhampton Wanderers, thought to have been close to taking the job.

For one reason or another, however, that move did not materialise and now, after two weeks of uncertainty, it appears Everton have found a new boss.
Talksport broke the news that Rafa Benitez, once of Liverpool, is on the brink of taking the reigns on Merseyside once more, but this time for the blue half.

It is safe to say that neither sets of fans in Liverpool are happy with this move, with the Liverpool half upset that their ex-boss would take the job, and Everton half upset that the club would consider hiring an ex-Liverpool manager.
I cannot stand the idea of Benitez at Everton … And I come from a position that was solidly not arsed who we got in. It appears I am arsed …. my stance is now Anyone but Benitez ..

I can’t stress to you all enough just how much of a low point it would be to appoint Rafa Benitez as manager of our Football Club

Chelsea was bad but Everton will be a whole other level of shite from Rafa Benitez.

It remains to be seen whether this deal will go through, but if it does, the Merseyside Derby is certainly one not to miss this season.
