Tottenham’s managerial search
Tottenham are still yet to appoint a successor to Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by the club in April.
Thus far, a number of high-profile names have been linked with the Spurs bench.
Julian Nagelsmann was said to have been of interest to the north London outfit, but he is now set to take over at Bayern Munich in the summer.
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers had to been tipped as a potential target, but he is believed to have confirmed that he is not interested in the job.
Ajax boss Erik ten Hag was also revealed to be of interest to the Lilywhites, but he then penned a new contract extension with the Dutch club until 2023.
Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini was linked with the job, but he squashed those rumours pretty quickly:
Gian Piero Gasperini to Sky Sport: “Tottenham? There’s absolutely nothing, not even talks or contacts… I’m under contract with Atalanta and I’m so happy here”. ⚪️ #THFC #Spurs

Antonio Conte was even named as a target at the back end of last month, but the Italian has since explained why he decided against joining Spurs.
Fonseca set for Spurs
However, it now appears as though Spurs’ long search for a Jose Mourinho replacement is at an end.
Ex-Roma boss Paulo Fonseca has been the name most heavily linked with the Lilywhites in recent days.
And now, according to the Telegraph:
Paulo Fonseca is understood to have agreed in principle a contract until 2023 with Tottenham Hotspur, with a one-year optional extension, bringing closer the end of the club’s long search for a successor to Jose Mourinho.
