Buendia not been contacted
Arsenal will be looking for an attacking midfielder this summer with Martin Odegaard set to return to Real Madrid.
Arteta likes the Norwegian but it is not expected that the club will be able to tempt Real into a sale.
The Gunners’ failure to secure European football, or so it seems, has dented their position on the negotiating table in Europe even further.
One previous target of the Gunners, Emi Buendia, has now also been touted to be unlikely to appear in the red and white shirt next season.
The information comes from a well-known Arsenal-related social media account known as the AFC Bell.
The account has proven to be a reliable source of information having notable insight into the Thomas Partey transfer last summer before many leading media outlets.
They claim that Buendia’s representatives have not had any contact since the interest in the January window .
The circles near Buendia tell TheAFCBell Arsenal has not made any move or talk to the camp, as the last round of informal dialogue between the parties goes back to last December. Those close to the player say there are no hints or signals from the London club until now to ignite their interest again.

Arsenal will therefore be looking at other options with credited interest in players such as Houssem Aouar and Nabil Fekir.
Arteta expecting busy summer
With words which some Arsenal fans may find sceptically optimistic from manager Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard has opened the door to supporters to be excited about what the resources available this summer could bring.
“What I mean is that we are in the middle of (a process). We are not at the start or at the end, it is a process that we are in. It started a few months ago when we had changes of structure at the club, these changes were unprecedented and had not happened in the club’s long history,” he said.
“It’s something we had to do, it’s happened already and it has to continue. It’s a difficult task because it does not provide the stability that is necessary.
“We have an incredible opportunity, I am so excited because I know what we can do with the size and resources we are going to have and the quality of people we have at the club.”
This could of course come back to bite the former club captain.
Arsenal fans have been expectant before and been let down by the club’s history of poor recruitment and shoddy player sales experience.
There now seems nowhere to hide after such confident words.
