Dzeko to Galaxy
Roma are likely to be in the market for a forward this summer. Edin Dzeko’s time at the club is coming to an end it seems.
The 35-year-old joined the club from Manchester City on loan before making the deal permanent. He has scored 85 Serie A goals in 196 appearances.
As with many of Europe’s notable figures, a move to the MLS is often an option to crown their careers and LA Galaxy appear to be the candidate.
Dzeko’s agent spoke about the links without much subtleness.
“I’ve heard he will join LA Galaxy, but I can’t reveal the details because the deal is not done yet,” he said.
The Bosnian still has a year left on his Roma deal but whether a transfer fee would be involved is not known.

Mourinho wants Arsenal target
With Dzeko possibly on the way out, new Roma boss Jose Mourinho must find a replacement.
The man touted to be the first choice is Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst.
Arsenal were linked to the Dutch forward last summer so much so the striker was even asked about the interest.
“That would be nice, wouldn’t it. That would be a good thing, of course that fits in the perfect picture.” he said regarding the interest from abroad.
However, when asked if there had been any contact he shut down the possibility.
“This is a very boring answer, but you really shouldn’t be asking me about that. I would say call them up.
“In the end, of course, I also made a clear career plan, mapped out a plan. But you always have to see how it goes.”
Weghorst remained and has scored 20 goals and chipped in with 8 assists. His 6’5 height means he is an threat in the air, similar to how Dzeko was. It would be an effective like for like transfer.

With how Arsenal play under Arteta, the length of contract and age profile of Weghorst, it would make little sense for the Gunners to move for the forward. Roma could face some competition from other sides but it very unlikely to be Arsenal this time round.
