The managerial shortlist of Premier League outfit Tottenham has continued to shorten on Thursday, amid claims that another high-profile name has opted to knock back the advances of the Lilywhites.

The subject of the bench in north London has of course taken centre stage in the media of late.
This comes with Spurs, just a week prior to a League Cup final showdown with Manchester City last month, having opted to dismiss Jose Mourinho.
Ryan Mason, in turn, has since picked up the reins at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, for the final weeks of the campaign.
The ex-midfielder, though, completely inexperienced in a senior managerial role, is unlikely to maintain his position into next season, particularly when taking into account the club’s costly slip-up at home to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
In turn, a whole host of tacticians have been named as targets on the part of the Daniel Levy and co.
Initially, upon Mourinho’s dismissal, the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Julian Nagelsmann, Steven Gerrard and even ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino were touted as potential arrivals on the bench in the capital.
Recent weeks, meanwhile, have seen Nuno Espirito Santo and Gian Piero Gasperini both move to distance themselves from the hotseat at Spurs.
Allegri eyeing Real
And, as outlined above, on Thursday, the Lilywhites have been dealt yet another blow.
This comes amid claims that Massimiliano Allegri has rebuffed an approach from the club’s hierarchy.
As per a report from Spanish outlet AS, Tottenham recently made contact with the representatives of the former Juventus boss, to make their interest in his services known.
Daniel Levy, for his part, is said to ‘like Allegri’s profile a lot’.
The Italian, though, has conveyed the message that, for the time being at least, he is not ready to commit himself to the Spurs project.
This comes with Allegri awaiting developments at Real Madrid, where he has emerged as a front-runner to replace Zinedine Zidane ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
