Manchester City set to bring in Ramos after Final heartbreak
Following their disappointing defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League final, plans are already well underway to refresh the squad.
In what would undoubtedly be one of the shock moves of the summer, ESPN are reporting that Pep Guardiola is targeting defender Sergio Ramos as he seeks to embed leadership into his side.

Ramos, now 35 years old, would arrive at the Etihad as a serial winner, having amassed 22 trophies during his 16 years at Real Madrid. Despite his service to the club, Spanish publication Marca report that no deal has been struck to extend his current contract, which expires this summer.
He would follow manager Zinedine Zidane out of the exit door at Real Madrid, who endured a disappointing season but have already announced the arrival of David Alaba for the next campaign.

Serial Winner on the European stage
Perhaps most central to Guardiola’s thinking targeting the Spanish defender is his European pedigree. He has won the Champions League a staggering four times, providing a crucial injury-time equaliser on the way to their 2014 victory over arch-rivals Atletico Madrid.
It is no secret that the Champions League is the holy grail for the Manchester City ownership group, and to have got so close yet come up short will certainly have stung. It may be this that has begun enquiries after Sergio Ramos, who certainly knows how to compete on the biggest stage.

Somewhat surprisingly despite his injury woes this season, Sergio Ramos was dropped from Luis Enriques Spain squad for the upcoming European Championships. Captain of the National side, it became more insulting as Enrique chose to take just 24 of a possible 26 players to the tournament.
Ramos could yet have the last laugh, however, if he can prove that he is not past his best. Moving to Manchester City and helping them win the Champions League would certainly achieve that.
