Tottenham turn to Thuram for more firepower
Tottenham Hotspur preparing themselves for Harry Kane’s seemingly imminent departure by reinforcing their attack proactively.
Despite having no manager at the moment, the North London club are reportedly keen on signing Borussia Monchengladbach’s French forward Marcus Thuram this summer as they aim to bolster their attacking options.
Valued at 31 million pounds by transfermarkt, the Frenchman provided 8 goals and 7 assists in his 29 Bundesliga appearances across 20/21, and at 23-years-old seems to be set to enter the prime of his career imminently.

It remains to be seen how much Gladbach would demand for their young forward, although the lack of European football at the German club next season could well be a decisive factor.
Spurs can only offer the UEFA Conference League, the third tier of European football, but it remains a step up from his current predicament.
Moreover, Borussia Monchengladbach have undergone a change of management, with the highly-rated Marco Rose departing for Borussia Dortmund and being replaced by Adi Hutter. While it remains unclear how this affects Thuram, it is possible that he could find himself a victim of regime change.
The work of the new director of football?
It is widely rumoured that Fabio Paratici, once of Juventus, is set to take up the role of Tottenham’s Director of Football in the coming days.

Spurs remain without a manager since they sacked Jose Mourinho in April, with caretaker Ryan Mason stepping down at the end of the season. It remains unclear who their candidate will be, although an approach for Antonio Conte fell through last week.
Tottenham have called off plans to appoint Antonio Conte as their new head coach following a breakdown in talks.

As a result, it seems as though any move for Thuram is entirely down to the early work of Paratici, something that Spurs fans will be eager to see continue.
