Man Utd stars wanted to talk to fans
The match between Manchester United and Liverpool was postponed yesterday after supporters protesting against the owners of the club, the Glazer family, broke into Old Trafford and created a security risk.
Sky Sports reporter James Cooper supposedly told one of the protesters that some of the players, including Bruno Fernandes & Harry Maguire, were left ‘furious’ when they were told they couldn’t engage and reason with the fans.
I spoke to James Cooper earlier and he told me that the players at the Lowry Hotel pleaded with the staff to allow them outside and to engage with the fans protesting.
The club said no and the players were left absolutely furious.

Petr Cech pleaded with Chelsea fans earlier in the week in order to let the team bus into the ground on the day of the Super League protests which saw the collapse of proposals.

The players were of course prevented for their own safety, the same reasons behind the game’s postponement, however, the consequences of the incident are yet to play out.
Wrong Glazer targeted on social media
For many supporters who could not be in attendance for the protest, they made their voices known on social media.
Jay Glazer, an NFL personality, was consistently targeted by United fans thanks to his verified account and 1.2m+ followers convincing some that he must be involved.
He took to social media to try and show fans he had nothing to do with the club or that specific Glazer family.
Just to be clear for the thousandth time as I woke up to all this stuff sent my way on social media… my family is from Brooklyn, NOT Tampa, we do NOT own Man U. We can’t sell bc WE DON’T OWN IT!! You can’t be that good a fan of them if you think an NFL Insider owns your team

Eventually though the pressure told. Glazer posted he would be selling his imaginary stake in the club in hope some supporters may stop harassing him.
Ahhhh fuck it… after much consideration and many talks with my family (none) and due to the fact that the business is just getting in the way of my day-drinking I have, in fact, decided to sell my stake in Manchester United… this decision did not come easy

United is actually owned by the 6 children of the late original owner Malcolm Glazer: Joel, Avram, Kevin, Bryan, Darcie and Edward Glazer.
Jay Glazer will hope the fanfare will begin to fade now his identity has been revealed and his fiction stake is to be sold.
