With the summer transfer window now open, the future of Philippe Coutinho has once again emerged as a talking point.

Barcelona & Philippe Coutinho
Barcelona’s debt has long been well documented, with it reported earlier this year that their Brazilian midfielder could be one of the players moved on this summer to help ease the club’s financial woes.
Coutinho originally joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January of 2018, for a sum believed to be over £100m.
The South American was brought in using the money the Blaugrana had earned through the sale of Neymar.
However, Coutinho, along with the other attackers brought in since Neymar’s departure, has not come anywhere close to replicating the winger’s production.
After a fairly underwhelming first full season in Catalonia, Coutinho was loaned to FC Bayern Munich for the 2019/20 campaign.
The former Inter Milan man actually enjoyed a decent stint in Germany, but Bayern opted against making his move a permanent one.
This saw Coutinho back at Barca for the 2020/21 campaign. And the attacker, again, enjoyed a decent start to the term, scoring one and assisting two in his first three league appearances. However, he then ruptured his outer meniscus in January, and has been sidelined ever since.

Coutinho to Leicester?
In turn, Barca now appear to be aiming to move the 29-year-old on once again.
As per Mundo Deportivo, Coutinho is one of the players who could potentially depart the Camp Nou this summer.
The Spanish outlet suggest that Leicester City are following the Brazilian, amid talk of a potential €20m bid.
It is added that Barcelona would welcome such a move, to help reduce their wage bill.
And though not mentioned in this report, it is worth noting that Barca will need to pay Liverpool another €20m, if Coutinho plays a further 10 games for the club – another factor in the Spanish club’s desire to sell him.
