Leeds and West Ham keen on 28-yr-old who could be available for just €10-12m – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United remain keen on signing Omar Colley from Sampdoria this summer.
According to SampNews24, the Premier League side are prepared to battle it out with West Ham United and other potential suitors to secure the services of the 28-year-old centre back.
The defence has been a major concern for Leeds this past season and they conceded 54 goals in 38 Premier League matches.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished ninth in the Premier League table, just seven points adrift of the Champions League qualification slot.
The Whites could have easily challenged for a place in the Champions League with a better defence and Bielsa must look to bring in a quality defender before the start of the next season.
SL View: Could be a bargain signing for Leeds or West Ham
Colley has proven himself in the Italian league with Sampdoria and he is at the peak of his career right now. He could make an immediate impact at Elland Road and improve Leeds considerably at the back.
Furthermore, the report states that the experienced defender will be allowed to leave for a fee of around €10-12 million this summer and the transfer could prove to be a bargain in today’s market.
West Ham could use some defensive reinforcements as well and Colley would be an upgrade on the likes of Craig Dawson.
A move to either Premier League club would be a step up for the player and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
