There has been a growing fear amongst the Tottenham Hotspur fan base that he would indeed look to leave the club very soon.
He has spoken a number of times about his ambition to win trophies in his career and after losing the League Cup final to Manchester City, it has seemingly been decided by Kane that he is better off leaving the lilywhite half of north London to achieve that.
“When I look back at the end of my career, these are all the things I’ll go over and take in a little bit more, but the goal right now as a player is to win team trophies,” he said at the end of April.
“As much as this is great, I want to be winning the biggest team prizes. We’re not quite doing that. It’s bittersweet, but it is what it is. I’m proud to win [Premier League Player of the Year], it’s been a good season on the pitch.”
Just weeks later, it has been announced he wishes to leave. It seems these words were indeed a sign of what was to come.
Reaction in the stadium
The timing for Kane couldn’t have been worse for the news to leak many would have thought.
Just days before he would face the Spurs crowd, returning after being away for so long due to the pandemic.
However, the reaction may be a surprise to many expecting some tough treatment.

A level of understanding perhaps for the England captain’s decision?
Where he will end up is still very much a mystery. However, for now, before his destination is decided, the Spurs supporters are very much appreciative of what he has given the club.
