Kane, Tottenham & England
It came as no surprise to most when Tottenham talisman Harry Kane expressed his desire to part ways with the club after what amounted to another disappointing season with Spurs.
It was also no surprise at the clubs that have reportedly logged interest in the England international, with Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea all seemingly prepared to lock horns with bids that would see the winner land one of Europe’s best centre-forwards over the last few seasons.
But such speculation has a way of finding its way into the bloodstream when international tournaments are involved, and England’s chances at the Euros this summer will undoubtedly owe much to how Kane performs for the Three Lions.
According to the Daily Express on Wednesday (see below), the Kane transfer saga is likely to rumble on throughout the summer.
The Express appear to provide a negative context around Kane, as readers are fed the headline: “Kane unrest will rage on”.

The Daily Mail have a slightly different take on how Kane’s future may impact England this summer.
According to the Mail, Kane “won’t be distracted by transfer talk”.

So which is it: will Kane be focused on England or not?
Kane to use speculation as fuel to further boost his profile
It is equally as possible to postulate that such uncertainty in his club career could actually serve as fuel for the Walthamstow-native, who last time out for England in 2018 ended as the competitions top scorer and golden boot winner after scoring six goals and outshooting the likes of France duo Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann, Cristiano Ronaldo, and host-nation forward Denis Cheryshev. Thus far, Kane has bagged 34-goals in 53-appearances in an England shirt, which mirrors his incredible goal return for Spurs since his break-out season back in 2014-15 when he hit 21-goals in the Premier League in his first season as the first-choice forward.
Over the past seven seasons as the headline striker for Tottenham, Kane has produced numbers that are up there with the best in Europe across that period. All told, he has repaid the club with 163-goals in the Premier League, and 217-goals across all competitions in 336-appearances. His influence in isolation for Spurs has been right up there with the talismanic figures of Robert Lewandowski at Bayern, Lionel Messi at Barcelona, and Cristiano Ronaldo for both Real Madrid and Juventus.
But how could Kane boost his profile and platform to even greater heights? National team success. Kane comes into the Euro off the back of winning both the golden boot and playmaker awards for the 2020-21 Premier League season and will be the main threat in an England forward line with enough quality and star power that could push the Three Lions to similar or greater success than their recent World Cup campaign. Almost as if to put the matter beyond doubt if he was to lead the nation to Euro glory for the first time in its history, a motivated Harry Kane is not only a dangerous proposition for his opponents across Europe this summer but a player who has outgrown his surroundings if he wants to achieve bigger and better things.
