Reguilon embarrassed on home fans return
It was certainly a night to forget for Spanish defender Sergio Reguilon after the former Real Madrid man skewed a Villa cross into his own net.
It was an amateurish attempt to clear the ball, taking a wild swipe similar to what can be seen on many a school playground or Sunday league match.
Not expected from a Spanish international.

He fell to the floor in raw embarrassment and it was ultimately telling in a home defeat to Aston Villa. Ollie Watkins ghosting in from Regulon’s side to calmly slot past Hugo Lloris to score the third and decisive goal of the game.
Spurs fans booed off the players at half time and full time, adding insult to injury.

Terry worsens Spurs embarrassment
Not only was the home loss and an own goal bad enough, some Spurs fans’ embarrassment was made worse when former Chelsea defender John Terry responded to some heckling from the crowed by imitating holding aloft an imaginary trophy.
ESPN’s James Olley described how the former Chelsea captain got back at some Spurs fans giving him grief on the sidelines.

Spurs of course haven’t won a trophy since 2008 and are likely to lose their star man Harry Kane because of it.
The England striker has supposedly told the club he wishes to leave at the end of the season in search of winning the biggest accolades before he finishes his career.

Spurs were knocked out of the FA Cup by Everton before losing to Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League quarter finals. They then lost the League Cup final to Manchester city in which they offered very little in terms of threat in the 1-0 defeat.
