H&M has teamed up with specialist streetwear label Lover’s FC to unveil a capsule collection featuring a series of tunics that combine 1990s football inspirations with contemporary urban style, as adidas did with the City collection. .
Specialized in football, the British collective is a fan of retro jerseys and it is therefore natural that the DNA of the group is felt in this collaboration revealing seven tunics completed by a set of tracksuit, a pair of socks, a bob and a scarf proudly displaying “Football is nothing without the fans”. These swimsuits with superb graphics and colors are made entirely of 100% recycled polyester.
To create these tunics, the streetwear label drew heavily on the colors and designs of certain clubs and countries that have marked world football. We find in particular certain legendary numbers on the back of these jerseys such as Johan Cruyff’s 14 for the orange jersey of the Netherlands, the 3 of Paolo Maldini for the blue jersey of Italy or the 10 worn by Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio or still Alessandro Del Piero at Juventus Turin.
“Football and fashion have never been so closely linked, and this collaboration with H&M is a chance to explore their relationship. I first started Lover’s FC as a soccer jersey lover, and it’s amazing to share this passion with soccer and fashion fans around the world ”, explains Neal Heard, founder of Lover’s FC. Fashion and football are indeed closer and closer and for H&M, this is not a first since the Swedish giant had already collaborated with Hector Bellerin.
France is unfortunately not represented through this capsule collection which should nevertheless satisfy fans of fashion and football of yesteryear. The seven jerseys and other accessories are already available on the H&M online store.
