Chelsea will reportedly be forced to pay out on a considerable clause in the contract of Kai Havertz, if the club secure glory in the Champions League later this month.

Werner & Mount on target
Thomas Tuchel’s men were of course back in European action in midweek.
The Blues welcomed Real Madrid to Stamford Bridge, with a spot in club football’s grandest stage on the line.
Chelsea headed into proceedings boasting the advantage – albeit a slender one – after bagging an away goal en route to a 1-1 stalemate in Madrid last week.
And, when all was said and done on Wednesday night, it was the Blues who indeed went on to emerge victorious from the tie.
Timo Werner opened the game’s scoring inside the half-hour mark, before Mason Mount made sure of the club’s first Champions League final berth since 2012, with a 2nd five minutes from time:

Havertz bonuses
In turn, after downing Manchester City for the 2nd time in the space of two weeks earlier this evening, Chelsea will no doubt head into May 29th’s showpiece occasion confident in their chances of rounding out an impressive season with glory on the continent.
As outlined above, however, if the Blues do indeed go on to get the better of Pep Guardiola’s men, it is set to cost them.
As revealed by German outlet Kicker this weekend, Kai Havertz’s transfer to west London last summer included a number of clauses – one of which pertained to the Champions League.
It is claimed that, should Chelsea go all the way in three weeks’ time, they will subsequently owe Bayer Leverkusen ‘a whopping million euros’, on top of the €80 million basic fee forked over in 2020.
In fact, Kicker hint that the payout owed would take the entire sum for Havertz close to the €100 million mark.
Having agreed hefty bonus payments in the deal that took Kai Havertz to Stamford Bridge, the fee for the German could rise to €100million if #Chelsea win the Champions League. (@Kicker)https://t.co/1NtMDqSRo8
