Smith Rowe on target
The Gunners of course made the trip to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s men headed into proceedings viewed as heavy underdogs, with Chelsea of course one of European football’s most in-form sides as things stand.
When all was said and done in west London, though, Arsenal shocked the masses, en route to a 1-0 win.
The game’s solitary goal came with a quarter of an hour on the clock, when an uncharacteristic mistake on the part of Jorginho eventually resulted in the aforementioned Aubameyang squaring for Emile Smith Rowe to slot home from close range:

‘Creating can be harder!’
As outlined above, though, the chatter surrounding Arsenal’s winner at Stamford Bridge has not yet subsided, days after the clash itself.
This comes on the back of an altogether peculiar exchange on talkSport, in the game’s aftermath.
Upon the subject of Smith Rowe’s strike coming to the fore, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor opted to hone in on Aubameyang’s teeing up of his young teammate.
Bizarrely, though, the 34-year-old went on reveal his opinion that Arsenal’s captain should not have been credited with an assist, due to the simplicity of his pull back:
✅ “Make a worldie pass or beat players to put it on a plate, that’s an assist.”
? “You can’t be passed the ball & play it 5 yards and get an assist!”
❌ “Aubameyang for #AFC’s goal last night, that’s not an assist!”

But, as outlined above, one of Aubameyang’s Premier League counterparts has since moved to hit back at Agbonlahor’s claim.
Taking to social media in response to talkSPORT’s Tweet, Jack Grealish, of course himself one of the English top-flight’s finest creators, revealed his surprise with the ex-Villa star’s claim, accompanied by the message:
‘Creating the goal can sometimes be harder than scoring!’
