Gini Wijnaldum all but confirms Liverpool exit

Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum has provided a fresh update on his future, with the news far from positive from a Reds perspective.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are of course currently locked in action with Crystal Palace, as part of the final round of Premier League fixtures.

The clash marks an absolutely crucial one for the Merseysiders, who remain in the thick of the top-4 hunt.

Ahead of kick-off, Liverpool occupied the final Champions League berth, albeit sitting level on points with Leicester City.

In turn, the recently dethroned Premier League champions were no doubt fully aware that, should they drop points this evening, it could prove hugely costly when it comes to their plans for both next season, and beyond.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp unsurprisingly opted for a strong starting XI this evening, featuring the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane:

‘As it looks…’

The main focus of attention upon Liverpool’s line-up to face Palace being unveiled, however, surrounded another member of Klopp’s squad.

The player in question? Georginio Wijnaldum.

Speculation surrounding the future of midfielder Wijnaldum has of course been rampant of late, ahead of the imminent expiration of his contract at Anfield.

In turn, speaking ahead of kick-off this evening, the Dutchman was inevitably asked for an update on the situation.

And Wijnaldum’s subsequent response – for those Liverpool fans who remain hopeful of the ex-Newcastle man staying put – proved altogether discouraging.

‘Gini’ went on to explain:
