Gareth Bale walks out of interview after being questioned on Wales future

Gareth Bale was left altogether unimpressed by an inquisitive member of the media, on the back of Wales’ defeat to Denmark this evening.

Danes run riot

Bale and co. were of course back in action a short time ago.

The Dragons made the trip to the Amsterdam Arena, for a Euro 2020 Last-16 showdown with Denmark.

Robert Page’s men headed into proceedings widely regarded as underdogs, with the Danes, having recovered from a hugely testing opening to the tournament, fresh off the back of a dominant 4-1 drubbing of Russia.

And, when all was said and done, Kasper Hjulmand’s outfit impressed once more, en route to an eventual 4-0 victory.

Kasper Dolberg proved the star of the show, bagging a brace either side of the interval, including the following stunner from the edge of the area:

And the Danish onslaught was complete inside the closing five minutes, when the ever-dangerous Joakim Mæhle’s strike was added to by Barcelona hitman Martin Braithwaite deep into injury-time.

Bale fumes

Whilst the impressive Denmark march on, though, on the flip side of things, a Welsh outfit who headed into this evening’s action confident of an upset are now left to pick up the pieces.

The Dragons were outplayed in every facet of the game in the Dutch capital, with several key members of Robert Page’s squad, all told, having simply failed to step up to the plate.

One such individual was Gareth Bale, whom it was hoped Wales would be able to lean upon, due to his wealth of experience at the top level of the game. The Real Madrid man, however, struggled to leave his mark on the clash, up against a stout Danish backline.

In turn, it did not come as too much of a surprise to see Bale looking altogether disheartened following the game’s full-time whistle.

And, as outlined above, such frustrations subsequently spilled over into the attacker’s post-game interview. After answering a series of questions surrounding Wales’ display with honesty and poise, Bale was, for the 2nd day straight, pressed on whether today’s may have come as his final appearance in the colours of the Dragons.

The 31-year-old, though, was in no mood for repeating himself, and opted to depart without saying another word.
