Three Lions eyeing another 3 points
Friday’s marquee Euro 2020 fixture will of course see two of football’s oldest rivals go head to head.
The clash in question will come in Group D, when England welcome Scotland to Wembley, for a crunch showdown.
The two nations endured altogether differing fortunes in the opening round of fixtures, as Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions got the better of Croatia, whilst Steve Clarke and co. were put to the sword by a Patrik Schick-inspired Czech Republic.

And England, in turn, are widely expected to compound the woes of their neighbours in 24 hours’ time, to book their spot in the Euros’ knockout rounds.

On the eve of the capital clash, though, Scotland have been handed a timely boost on the personnel front.
Key defender Kieran Tierney was of course forced to sit out the nation’s meeting with the Czech Republic, after picking up what was described as a ‘little niggle’ in training.
Speaking on Thursday evening, however, Tartan Army boss Steve Clarke confirmed that the Arsenal star has returned to fitness, and is therefore available to start at Wembley:
‘Everybody fit and available, including Kieran. It’s good news for Kieran, it’s good news for us, it’s good news for the Scottish supporters, so hopefully we can back all that up with a good result.’
‘He’s trained fully the last two days, so he’s available for the whole game.’
Kieran Tierney is “fit and available” to face England on Friday night, Scotland head coach Steve Clarke has confirmed.

Scotland, though, are not the only ones to have seen their prospects tomorrow evening boosted by the return of a star performer.
Speaking in his own press conference not long ago, Gareth Southgate revealed that Harry Maguire – who has not taken to the pitch since early last month due to an ankle injury – is also back available for selection.
It must now be decided whether the Manchester United man features from the off, or simply from the bench on Friday.
Harry Maguire is ready to return for England. Southgate to decide whether he starts or comes in from the bench or not at all. All 26 players are available. Grealish is also fine. #ThreeLions #Euro2020
