Protests cost United £200m deal
Manchester United have missed out on £200 million across 10 years thanks to the fan protests against the Glazer ownership.
Supporters broke into Old Trafford last weekend and swarmed the stadium’s exterior to have their voices heard.
Thousands were in attendance and now the protest has moved to digital channels as a stance against the club’s commercial partners is taking effect.

Despite its infancy, it is clearly already having an impact on possible future deals with the club.
As organizations’ concern over associating with the club and others boycotting their product grow, a training kit sponsor has pulled out of a deal according to The Observer.
The Hut Group was the company who informed the club on Friday they would not be continuing with the deal.
The #NotAPennyMore campaign’s immediate success could yet see other clubs take similar stances.
Arsenal and Chelsea have seen significant protests in the wake of the Super League fiasco.
Solskjaer wants Glazer, fan peace
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has risked further backlash as he calls for unity. The Sunday Times describe the attempts by the Norwegian as a warning to fans that should this coming together and effective peace not be achieved it could ‘compromise’ the possible success for the season’s close.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called on Manchester United’s owners and supporters to heal their rifts, warning that if the club cannot “unite” off the field, it will compromise his ability to deliver success on the pitch.
Solskjaer again pointed to the protests as a challenge for him and the players. Seemingly an attempt to try and cool the ferocity of the movements which caused the suspension of the match with Liverpool.
“You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see the challenges ahead and the friction ahead, and it makes it more difficult for me and more difficult for the players,” he said.
“We have to focus on getting results and we’ve come a long way, I feel. We’ve got to a final now and we just want to focus on doing what we do but doing it better. And hopefully the fans will see that we are working in the right way.
“I want us all to come together and unite and get up the table and that is my responsibility. I will do what I can to get us one step further in Europe and one step further in the league.”
United face the prospect of 4 games in quick succession including the already played semi-final win over Roma in the Europa League.
