He posted to his Instagram an image celebrating with on loan Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard. The pair were instrumental in the Hammers’ brilliant season.
No intention of losing Rice
After the match , the celebrations were jubilant as expected but it was not long before manager David Moyes was asked about the future of his star midfielder.
The Scottish coach replied that he and the clubs owners are in agreement that they have absolutely no intention of selling Rice this summer and will be needing him in the European journey next season.
“I don’t think David Sullivan or David Gold or myself have any intention of losing Declan Rice,” Moyes said. “We’ve just qualified for Europe. It’s a brilliant achievement. Declan’s a big part of that and we want him to be a big part of that next year as well.

“If I had this exact team and the exact group of players, I’d think I have a good chance. I’m hoping I can add some more, similar characters, similar people who have performed at an incredible level this season. You need good players to be successful.”
Whilst this will give encouragement to West Ham United supporters, ultimately players have still left despite the wishes of their coaches and should the money be too good to turn down or Rice himself push for a move, Moyes’ words may end up being rather hollow.
