West Ham impressing under David Moyes
West Ham United were most certainly one of the surprise packages in the the 2020/21 campaign.
The Hammers had an awful 2019/20 season, which saw them amass just 39 points and finish 16th in the Premier League.
This past campaign, though, David Moyes transformed what, on paper, still looks like a pretty average PL side, into a Europe-chasing team.
And, West Ham are now set to be plying their trade in the Europa League in 2021/22 after finishing 6th last term.
The man behind West Ham’s resurgence has of course been David Moyes.
After taking over in December of last year, the Scotsman was able to steady the ship and avoid relegation before overseeing what has been a pretty superb season from the Hammers.
Moyes’ deal with the capital outfit was due to run out this summer as he only signed an initial 18-month contract when he took over.
Moyes signs new deal
However, West Ham have confirmed on Saturday that Moyes has signed a new three-year deal with the club.
After signing his new deal, Moyes had this to say:
“I am delighted to have committed my future to West Ham United.
“This is where I want to be and I’m happy. I’m excited to be given this opportunity to build on what we all have already achieved here. The owners and I are fully aligned with how we want to keep developing and improving the football club.
“The Board and everyone at the Club have been fantastic to work with, giving me great support and I feel that we are all united in what we want to achieve in the coming years and how we might be able to achieve those things.”
We are delighted to announce that manager David Moyes has signed a new three-year contract with the Club! ✍️
