Crystal Palace ready to bid for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher

A report from England over the weekend has credited Crystal Palace with an interest in Conor Gallagher.

Conor Gallagher is just one of countless talented players to have come through Chelsea’s youth system in recent times.

Also like many others, though, Gallagher is yet to taste senior football with his parent club.

Instead, he has been farmed out on a series of loans – to Charlton, Swansea and, most recently, West Brom for the 2020/21 season.

Of course, West Brom did not enjoy the best of seasons, and are set for a swift return to the Championship.

However, Gallagher was still fairly impressive, with the midfielder having chipped in with two goals and two assists across 30 Premier League outings for the Baggies.

But what does the future hold for the midfielder ahead of next campaign?

Gallagher’s current Chelsea contract runs all the way until 2025. A report from Goal earlier this year claimed that the Londoners hold the 21-year-old in high regard, with Gallagher a frontrunner to be integrated into Thomas Tuchel’s squad for 2021/22.

Crystal Palace eyeing Gallagher

However, a report over the weekend has suggested that Gallagher could be on the move this summer.

According to the Sun, Crystal Palace will make a £15m bid for the Chelsea midfielder this summer.

Gallagher, for his part, is said to be want to stay at Chelsea and try and impress Thomas Tuchel.

The Sun add that the Eagles have the cash for new faces and need more legs in midfield, with Gallagher seen as a player who can be pivotal for years to come.

This would probably be a smart bit of business from Palace if they can get him on the cheap, as it is quite clear that the London-based outfit have a pretty old squad that needs to be revived if they wish to continue in the Premier League.
