Fikayo Tomori impressing in Milan

After spending much of the first half of 2020/21 on the bench, Fikayo Tomori joined AC Milan on loan in the January transfer window.

The deal is said to include an option to make the move permanent in the summer for around £25m.

And, after an impressive start to life in Milan, it appears Tomori could well be staying put beyond the current season.

The stopper has featured in the Rossoneri’s last 10 Serie A ties, and would score a crucial goal in his last outing as Milan put three past Juventus in a huge boost to their hopes of securing a Champions League spot next season:

Tomori broke Cristiano Ronaldo record

Following his goal vs Juventus, AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli confirmed that they do indeed wish to sign the defender permanently:

“We want to buy Tomori on a permanent deal from Chelsea, our intention is clear and also Fikayo’s decision [staying at Milan]. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”

As well as being his first Milan goal and a huge one in terms of the club’s Champions League pursuit, the 23-year-old would break a Serie A record with his headed effort last week.

Tomori jumped to a height of 2.63m (8.6 feet) to score his goal against Juventus, which has since been revealed to be a new Serie A record.

The record was previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who jumped to a height of 2.54m (8.3 feet).
