Goals, goals, goals
The first Euro 2020 round of 16 tie of the day played out a short time ago.
Said meeting saw Croatia and Spain face off, with the winner earning a place in the quarter-finals vs one of France or Switzerland – who are in action later on Monday.
Spain would begin Monday’s early kick-off on top, enjoying the majority of the possession and chances.
However, shortly after Alvaro Morata wasted a well-worked cross from Ferran Torres, Spain went 1-0 down thanks to a rather bizarre own goal:

Spain were able to recover from this setback and draw the game level before the break through Pablo Sarabia.
Cesar Azpilicueta then fired the Spaniard’s into the lead shortly before the hour mark, before Ferran Torres added a third with just 13 minutes of normal time remaining.

With a two-goal lead after 77 minutes, Spain looked nailed on to make it to the last-eight.
However, Luka Modric and co. did not give up, with their increasing pressure on a nervous-looking Spanish backline eventually paying off.
Mislav Orsic pulled one back after 85 minutes, before Mario Pasalic then scored in the 92nd minute to take the game to extra time.
But Croatia’s comeback would prove to be in vein, as Alvaro Morata regain Spain the lead 10 minutes into ET.
Substitute Mikel Oyarzabal then netted a 5th to kill the game off and send Spain into the quarter-finals.
Cesar Azpilicueta set Spain record
During what was one of the most entertaining games of Euro 2020 so far, Cesar Azpilicueta set a Spanish record.
The Chelsea defender’s 57-minute equaliser – which was also his first international goal – saw Azpilicueta become Spain’s oldest-ever goalscorer at the European Championships.
